Shobhana Prakash has headed 4 companies in her career of 35 years as an entrepreneur. Currently she is the Owner/CEO of 2 of these companies :

• RMC Electronics Private Limited, an ISO 9001-2015 export-oriented company which manufactures custom-built Power resistors, mainly for OEM’s like GE, Schneider Electric and ALSTOM.
• Spider Network Solutions, a consultancy firm, which is into all kinds of industrial consultancy and project work.

Heading these 2 companies which has a workforce of about 50 people, mainly women, she has always felt that her ‘people-management’ skills has been her greatest asset.

Shobhana has been an active Executive Committee member of various BSO’s :

• Vice President of AWAKE, Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka, 2015-17. She was Executive Committee member of AWAKE from 1987 and the Treasurer for 11 years from 1989 – 2000.
• President of CLIK, the ‘Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka for 3 years from 2002 – 2005 and Executive Committee member from 1987
• Chairperson of FKCCI’s Business Women’s Forum for 3 terms – 1987, 2000 and 2014
• Chairperson for Southern Region, for ELCINA, the Electronic Industries Association of India, for many years
• Founding Board Member of AIM - Alliance of Indian MSME’s

Shobhana has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. She is Trained Trainer in Export development and promotion, by CBI, a Dutch body and has executed several projects in East Africa, for CBI, as their International Expert.

She has also been sponsored by the Government of the United States to visit the US as an International Visitor at the ‘Entrepreneurship in the US’ program in 1995.
